From January 2009, the HSE will be asking farmers around the country to make a very special promise. “The promise to come home safe”.
Figures published by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in its annual report, 'Fatal injuries in farming, forestry and horticulture 2007/08' show that 42 people were killed as a result of farming and other agriculture-related activities in 2007/08. This is 42 too many.
